My Xmas Item for June.

Here is my finish for this month, an Angel red work Xmas ornament.
Thank you Narelle for hosting and encouraging us again this month.

PASS Please

A cheery hello to all the lovely Elves.  It's fantastic to see all the pretty makes for the month of June and warming to read all your lovely comments to one another. As the wind howls outside my door I can picture a busy workshop with a toasty fire .... I'll designate myself the hot chocolate lady if you like. Of course if you're in the north you might like a cool breeze through open windows and I'll designate myself the cool refreshing drinks lady :)

As for my request for a Pass this month, I just haven't been able to get my schedule around everything that seems to need my attention and is keeping me away from sewing. The best part has been welcoming our first grandchild/grandson who decided he was introducing himself one month early. Mum, dad and baby Jake are all doing well and I managed to have lots of cuddle time last Saturday.

Wishing everyone happy sewing and remember .... it's never too late to get a head start.

June Christmas Projects

Well I am very excited this end - I have been stitching Down Reindeer Lane from Rag-Tag Stitchin as my longer term project for 1 Xmas Item a Month, and ta da - the top is all finished

So it has encouraged me to start on a couple (yes two) other bigger Christmas projects. This one is "Angels Wings" from FignBerry Creations. One block down.
And the other is another project from Rag-Tag Stitchin "Merry Mistletoe". with any luck I might have three new xmas quilts finished by December. cheryl

Santa's Workers

Just as little "MuG RuG" this month...
Thanks Narelle... for keeping me motivated for the past 6 months.

Hello June baby!

Hi all, I hope you are well & enjoying life's interesting titbits! I have a cheeky finish for you this month.

So listen up stitching friends, the reason I think this is cheeky is because I made this for a shop sample for my favourite quilt shop, which is also where I work part time, The Country Yard. It is my cushion, just that have loaned it to the shop as we now have these lovely-want-to-buy-patterns by Bird Brain Designs. I used "Hugs n' Kisses" Cottage Garden Thread, just in case you were wondering.

Just perfect for a winter loving gal like me!

Winter bloggy hugsxxxx

Xmas Table Mat

I have finished making a xmas table mat to put into the pressie box,the pattern is a free download from The Crafty Quilter, thankyou Narelle for keeping us on track.
cheers shez xx

June project.

I chose a nice easy and SMALL one this month!  This tree stitchery  of green thread on red background is done in backstitch and chain stitch, with green beads embellishing the ends of the branches.  The pattern from Handmade Vol.29 No.7 is made into a mini wall hanging, but I don't know what I will do with this yet.  I might tack it onto a plain calico or canvas bag, or I could use it as a centrepiece in a larger tablecloth or runner.

I tried posting on Friday but the computer was sooooo slow I gave in. I've done some work on my Anni Downs quilt - the angel is almost done; she just needs a face and feet...

Plus I finished my secret sewing for Cheryll's Christmas in July Swap. Here they are all waiting to be posted .......

All in all a productive month.

... and another....

I didn't manage Christmas things for ages... now two this month!

This has been waiting a while to be finished

I had a fat quarter of that lovely vintage style pictoral fabric so I fussy cut the centres... then used the Sawtooth 12" block and bordered it... stitch in the ditch quilting and stripey binding...

Righto, Gotto Go....

Late item for May.

I feel like I've come skidding in over a slippery floor, yelling "Sorry I'm late!"  but that is really not necessary, lol.  So here is my May Xmas project - a giant felt pin cushion in the shape of a plum pudding.  The pattern was in one of the dozen magazines I've got put aside with Xmas stuff - may have been Country Threads.
I didn't have any red beads in my stash for the berries, and without going as far afield as Spotlight or Lincraft, I just nipped into Savers and bought a bracelet for $1 - the beads were perfect for this, and there are some left over for anything else that might need red beads in the future :-)

At last ...........

I have not been successful in an item each month.... but I have just finished this fun table topper

These are lovely little stitchery designs by Michelle Ridgeway .... I love them... and I love the happy Christmas fabric I used to frame them (Nancy Holverson I believe!)

I have made two matching coasters to go with the topper....

.. they are perfect to hold the Christmas bottles glasses of beer and wine

.. and that's 3 items this month... that sortof counts as catch up doesn't it?...

Righto, I think I have another Christmas item (UFO) to get done...

Tuesday 3 June 2014

Mine will be a late item.

I am also running late with the May project, due to our kitchen renovation.  Two weeks spent packing everything up, then unpacking it all and putting it away in new cupboards.  Great fun and I LOVE my new kitchen, but everything is covered in dust and I have not had a single day where I've been able to read a book or do any sewing.  My May project is cut out and ready to sew.  It won't take long, but it is just a matter of finding that time and sitting at the machine!
Love all the stitchings here for May so far - mine will be quite boring in comparison, lol!

Monday 2 June 2014

Oops.....

I havent finished my  stitchery for my 1 Christmas Item for May.  I am using an Anchor thread, and I have run out of the colour I was using.  I headed off to Spotlight to buy some more, found they were clearing their range of Anchor threads, but that there was none of the colour I needed.  Now I have to find another local Anchor thread stockist or start over.  Here is my stitchery so far.

Another 'Tis The Season' Cutie...

Oh no, I had been quite forgetting to blog my May effort...!
Isn't he just adorable?! Santa must be very trusting to allow an Elf to drive The Sleigh... maybe he's taking it to the SleighWash?
This design is called 'Elfin Sleigh'
I'm loving this project!

Hello fellow bloggers, 1st June today and I have finally got around to blogging about my item for May.
